Thomas Mackenbrock

CSO Arvato

Thomas Mackenbrock was appointed Chief Strategy Officer of Arvato in January 2017. Prior to that, he worked for Bertelsmann in several departments, roles and countries. In 2006, he began his Bertelsmann career in Corporate Development at the headquarters in Gütersloh. In 2008, he took over responsibility for the Business Development department. Starting in 2012, he built up Bertelsmann Brazil Investments (BBI) and the Bertelsmann Corporate Center in São Paulo as Managing Director. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President Global Business Strategy at the music subsidiary BMG, where he was responsible for Brazil and China.

Before he joined Bertelsmann, Mackenbrock worked from 2000 to 2006 for McKinsey & Company in the fields high-tech, telecommunications and media.

Mackenbrock studied business and economics in Ingolstadt, Chicago and Leipzig and obtained his doctorate at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. He is married and has two children.

Rolf Hellermann

CFO Arvato

Rolf Hellermann has been Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Arvato since July 2015. In addition, he has been serving as head of Bertelsmann’s Corporate Controlling and Strategy department since 2012.

After studying business administration in Vallendar, Los Angeles and Nancy, Hellermann completed his studies with a doctorate from the WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar. Immediately afterwards, in 2004 he joined Bertelsmann’s Corporate Controlling and Strategy department and in 2008 was appointed Vice President in charge of corporate controlling and investment controlling for Random House, Arvato and Direct Group. During his Bertelsmann career, Hellermann has also completed postings at RTL Group in Luxembourg and Gruner + Jahr in Hamburg.

Andreas Krohn

CEO Arvato CRM Solutions

Andreas Krohn has been the head of CRM Solutions at Arvato since December 2014. He was born in 1959 in Westerstede, Germany.

Krohn began his professional career at Arvato after studying business in London, Reutlingen and Fontainebleau as an assistant to the management of Mohn Media. After serving in further management positions, he switched to Arvato Services in 1995. From here on, he concentrated on the rapidly expanding airline business, which he used as the basis for expanding the company’s business with customers from the tourism industry over the following years. He also oversaw the development of Arvato’s service segment in Asia during the same time. Krohn was responsible for all of Arvato’s CRM activities in Germany in 2013 and 2014. In December 2014 he took over the company’s international CRM activities bundled under the CRM solution group.

In his new position, Krohn is strengthening his focus on the strategic realignment, international cooperation and digital transformation of Arvato’s global CRM business.

Krohn is married and has three children.

Frank Schirrmeister

CEO Arvato SCM Solutions

Frank Schirrmeister has been a member of the Arvato Executive Board since August 2014 and is head of the Arvato SCM solution group. He was born on April 29, 1965, in Herne, Germany.

After studying electrical engineering at the Rhineland-Westphalian Technical University (RWTH) in Aachen, he began his career as a senior adviser at the Arthur Andersen & Co. consultancy firm (now Accenture).

In 1994 Schirrmeister moved to Arvato, where he held management positions in Gütersloh and Versmold. In 1999 he was appointed vice president with responsibility for the global business operations of the Arvato client Microsoft. He has served as CEO of Arvato distribution GmbH since 2004.

Schirrmeister lives in Bielefeld with his wife and two children.

Frank Kebsch

CEO Arvato Financial Solutions

Frank Kebsch, CEO Arvato Financial Solutions has been working at different subsidiaries of Arvato Financial Solutions since 2000. He was born on September 15, 1965 in Dortmund.

He studied Economy at the Ruhr University in Bochum and started his career as a Key Account Manager at the Westfalenbank AG in Bochum. In 2000 he moved to the BFS finance GmbH, an Arvato Financial Solutions company, where he held successive management positions for the next years. From 2000 to 2001 he was Head of Credit Department at the BFS finance GmbH. Until 2005 he was the responsible Managing Director at the BFS risk management GmbH and the BFS risk & collection GmbH. In 2005 he was nominated to be the Managing Director and Head of Collection for the total group. Between February 2014 and Mai 2016 he has been the responsible CEO for the Region Central Europe at Arvato Financial Solutions. Kebsch has been CEO of Arvato Financial Solutions since June 2016.

Matthias Moeller

As CEO of Arvato Systems Matthias Moeller is responsible for Arvato’s Solution Group IT.

After studying computer science and business administration, he joined Bertelsmann Arvato in 1995 where he has held various roles.

He has been a part of the senior management team for IT Services since 2003. In 2012 Matthias Moeller was appointed Managing Director of Arvato Systems perdata GmbH with responsibility for IT Solutions and Services in the Utilities market unit. 

On 1st April 2016, he additionally took on the role of CEO of the Arvato Systems Group.

Andreas Barth

President Hightech & Entertainment - Arvato SCM Solutions

Andreas Barth is President of Hightech & Entertainment.

After completing his studies of Business Administration at the University of Cologne and Stockholm School of Economics with a Diploma (MBA equivalent) in 2002, Andreas joined a consultancy firm in Cologne.

In 2004 he started his career at Arvato as Executive Assistant to the MD Arvato Entertainment.

One year later he took over responsibilities for Operations and Projects at Arvato rewards GmbH – an Arvato owned start-up in Munich.

In 2007 he became Account Manager at Arvato Hightech. After several promotions in the following years, Andreas took over his current role as President in January 2014.

Carsten Coesfeld

President Telecommunications - Arvato SCM Solutions

After graduating the University WHU with a B.A. he started his career at Goldman Sachs in London. Subsequently, he finished his Master studies at the London School of Economics before he joined Bertelsmann in 2011 as an Executive Assistant.

At the end of 2012 he was responsible for the setup of the hospital business for BFS health finance at Arvato Financial Solutions in Dortmund. In January 2016 Carsten Coesfeld took over his current position as the President for Telecommunications.

Stephan Schierke

President Publisher - Arvato SCM Solutions

Stephan Schierke has been in executive positions of various businesses of Arvato for many years.

Right after he got his degree as Master of Industrial Engineering at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 1993 he joined Arvato as executive assistant. One year later he took over line responsibility in the business unit Media Distribution (VVA). In this unit he worked on various positions before he took over the overall responsibility of this core business unit in 2002.

Since that time Stephan has had various areas of responsibility, e.g. as CEO of the former strategic business units Arvato Publisher Services and Arvato E-Commerce. Currently he still chairs the Media Distribution business (VVA) as well as all Russian activities of Arvato. Furthermore he is in charge for the Arvato SCM business in Poland and Turkey. The central function ‘logistics & engineering’ also reports to him.

Stephan Schierke has been holding an honorary position in the Börsenverein des deutschen Buchhandels (association of German publishers and book sellers) for many years.

Boris Scholz

President Automotive |Banks | Insurances - Arvato SCM Solutions

Boris Scholz is the President of Arvato distribution GmbH since 2011. He is responsible for the activities of the Corporate Information Management division. He was born on June 30, 1971 in Marburg, Germany.

After graduating from the German Foreign Trade and Transportation Academy (DAV) with a focus on marketing and logistics, Boris Scholz joined Bertelsmann Distribution (today Arvato distribution GmbH) in 1999 as a Key Account Manager for an automotive customer.

In 2001, he was given additional responsibility for several customers in the automobile sector, of which he became Director in 2005. Two years later, as a board member of the SCM organization, Mr. Scholz founded the Corporate Information Management division. It combined sectors which were previously operating separately and it was given a new strategic orientation.

In 2010, Mr. Scholz became its CEO. Since the re-organization of the SCM organization, Mr. Scholz has been responsible for the automobile as well as the banking and insurances industry portfolio. In addition, he looks after the internationalization of CIM services in cooperation with other SCM industry segments. As a member of the SCM management board, Mr. Scholz has been in charge of international transport management activities since 2013.    

Boris Scholz lives in Münster, Germany with his wife and three children.

Martin Stirm

Martin Stirm has been the Executive Vice President of the Arvato distribution GmbH and the President of the business unit SCM Telecommunications since 2013.

After completing his MBO in Economics at the University of Stuttgart, he worked in various capacities at Alcatel Stuttgart. Before joining Arvato, he was president of the enterprise unit at Alcatel e-Business Distribution GmbH Germany.

He began his career at Arvato distribution in July 2003 as director of Business Development. He was responsible for the setup of a sales and marketing organization. 3 years later Martin Stirm took over his current role as Executive Vice President and President of the business unit SCM Telecommunication.

Since then he leads the Logistics and After Sales business for the Telco market in Germany, Austria, Greece, Turkey and Czech Republic.

Nils Klose

President Consumer Products - Arvato SCM Solutions

Nils Klose is President of the industry segment Consumer Products including the eCommerce Competence Center and the digital commerce offering within the SCM Solution Group. The Consumer Products business unit provides flexible and international e-commerce and logistics solutions for fashion, beauty and FMCG brands.

Nils Klose has been working for Arvato since 2002. His first position was as a project manager in Düren and he rapidly progressed in his career thereafter. In 2011, he was promoted to a VP role to establish and expand the e-commerce business for Arvato SCM’s business unit Hightech & Entertainment, based in Cologne. In 2013, Nils was appointed to work directly for the CEO of Arvato as a business manager.

He has been in charge of the development of growth projects and the internationalization of the service offering for the business unit Consumer Products since 2016.

Thorsten Winkelmann

President Healthcare - Arvato SCM Solutions

Dr Thorsten Winkelmann is CEO of the industry segment Healthcare. Since 2003, he and his European team have supported a number of pharmaceutical, health care and health insurance companies in the conception, implementation and operation of integrated, patient-oriented distribution and supply solutions. This involves efficient management of all supply chain, CRM and financial processes.

Dr Winkelmann began his career in 1997 as the assistant of a member of Arvato’s Executive Board before taking over various management functions at Arvato starting in 1998.
