Arvato App unifies online and offline shopping experiences within a month
Gütersloh – The German mobile commerce market is booming! Every third euro of e-Commerce Revenue already comes from tablets and smartphones, with an ever-growing share.
A newly developed White Label App from Arvato SCM Solutions aims to make the jump into Mobile Commerce simpler and quicker for companies. It’s now possible to roll-out a new Online Shop for mobile devices within a month, without the need to create new content.
The Arvato Commerce App Solution, or ACAS, has been developed for both iOS and Android. Research has shown that the willingness to purchase grows greatly if an App can be used instead of a Browser. This has been shown to increase retention rate up to three times previous levels! “Despite this, many small and mid-sized firms shy away from the financially and time-consuming development effort for their own shopping app”, states Andreas Nöthen, Director Mobile Solutions at Arvato SCM Solutions, “None-the-less, it’s worth it! Improving your users’ experience can offer 120% higher conversion rates. For this reason we have developed ACAS, a fully-functioning, configurable App, which can be implemented in a single month.”
At the heart of ACAS is the online store. It is compatible with the major e-Commerce platform Salesforce Commerce Cloud (formerly Demandware), and further Shop Systems are being integrated. As ACAS operates as an App it can offer features that would not be possible on a website without major implementation costs, such as Push Notifications.
To use a practical example: The user can contact a Sales Assistant in their preferred store through the Apps’ in-built Chat function and request the availability of a specific item. The Employee can check if there is stock available and offers to hold the item for a defined time-period. Andreas mentions, “With this feature we reduce the length of the reservation process and avoid inventory inaccuracies which a non-real-time system can cause through periodical synchronisation issues.”
Companies wanting to involve their customers further and personalise their experience can do so thanks to advanced Cloud integration and Beacon Marketing. That is, technology which utilises Bluetooth triggers in-store to display relevant information in the App. A specific example could be that the User puts a Wish List together in the App and saves it to the Cloud. When the option is enabled, once the customer enters a store a free employee will receive a Push-Notification via the App, including the Customers’ Wish List. With which the Customer can be personally greeted and advised. “This merges Online and Offline to create a unified, customer-orientated service”, states Andreas, regarding the key advantages of ACAS, “and the entire system is not limited to the German market, it’s available for all countries which the Online Shop already supports!”
With this Mobile Commerce Solution, Arvato expands its Omnichannel service portfolio with another element, supporting in turn other services such as e-Commerce Frontend Services, Logistics, Customer Service, Payment Services as well as an in-house developed Omnichannel Order Management System.
